Business Administration Managers B.A. Program
The Department of Business Administration awards its graduates a B.A. degree in Business Administration which is recognized by the Council for Higher Education.
The Business Administration Managers B.A. Program was designed for career oriented people who are concerned that they occasionally collapse under the burden of their jobs. Within the framework of the program, which has been operating successfully since 1997, a support model for the adult student was developed, allowing him/her to handle all his/her academic assignments in conjunction with his/her job, with nearly no adverse affect on his/her work or family. The Managers B.A. Program has an extremely practical orientation. The program joins the world of scientific theory and theoretical research with the practical field. The students in this framework are managers and organizational position holders representing the Israeli business world. They come from communications and hi-tech companies, industrial companies and marketing chains, as well as banking and financial services.
These students study within a permanent class framework. Their unique profile, experience and age and their coming together with experienced faculty members who have a practical orientation create an opportunity to study business administration content in a fascinating and contemporary manner, with each bringing his/her own personal perspective and experience.
The Business Administration Managers B.A. Program's administrative and academic staff encourages social and business ties among the students through workshops, fascinating guest lectures, practical activities and business games.
Graduates of the managers program may continue studying toward graduate degrees at any Israeli university or other academic institution in Israel or abroad.

Academic Faculty
Lecturers in the managers program are carefully selected. Most of them are graduates of leading universities in Israel and around the world in the fields of economics and social sciences. Alongside their academic positions, most are also involved in the employment market and some serve as managers, senior consultants and board members of leading companies. This involvement is reflected in their lectures, which combine theory with contemporary examples from the Israeli and global business world.
The Business Administration Managers B.A. Program's administrative and academic staff grants students personal attention and encourages direct ties between students, lecturers and the administrative staff. The students' needs, as adults, students and managerial position holders, are taken into account throughout the study period. The high level of these graduates and the career breakthroughs following their graduation attest to the program's ongoing success. Graduates tell of the learning atmosphere that encourages achievement, the pleasant social environment and of the ties that continue to last even after graduation.
Workshops, Seminars and Business Games
During their studies, the students are exposed to academic content that is translated by lecturers and senior academics into experiences that integrate a plethora of theories and models into workshops, seminars, guest lectures and various practical courses that were developed especially for the needs of managers in the field. The pinnacle of this process is the computerized business game fair that sums up the program studies through simulation in which students must make business decisions regarding all aspects of managing a business firm, while relating to the material learned throughout the program.
Field Workshop - Getting Acquainted with Israeli Society*
Former MK Dr. Anat Maor will conduct this workshop, which addresses the central social-democratic issues in Israeli society through personal meetings and discussions.
Tours of governmental institutions in Israel, including the Knesset and the Supreme Court.
Meetings with the Israeli Arab sector - meetings with mayors and educators and a visit to border area towns.
The status of women in Israel - including a visit to a shelter for battered women and discussion of the advancement of women in Israel.
Within the framework of studying policy regarding gaps in Israeli society and the disagreements related thereto, students will tour a prison for youths and other welfare institutions.
Leadership Workshop*
Led by: Dr. Rita Aloni. The purpose of the workshop is to allow students to experience leadership models and examine leadership behavior on an individual level through self investigation and scrutiny of the process as it unfolds in the study group. The workshop combines a number of different types of exercises both inside the classroom and through outdoor training, as well as group discussions, individual and group feedback and short theoretical lectures.
Among the study subjects: leadership attributes, leadership models, analysis of leadership issues, management and leadership and the difference between the two, those who are led and their role in the leader's growth.
Development Project - Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Social Involvement**
Within the framework of the Ruppin Academic Center Institute for Immigration and Social Integration, teams of students from the managers program may participate in a group seminar through which they contribute to the development of a product or service for front line organizations coping with the issues of immigration and social integration.
Aided and supervised by Dr. Moshe Sharir, the team formulates their development, as derived from the needs of the organization (for example: a business plan, market positioning, managing the organization's information and education systems, website upgrade, etc). However, unlike a regular seminar, the challenge and test of this seminar are the actual contribution to furthering the operations of the organization with which the team is partnered. Thus, students are given an opportunity to experience the work and social innovation that are characteristic of social promoters' operational and coping patterns and even more important, to deviate from their usual thought patterns and confront the importance and the challenge of contributing to social change.
Workshop - The Dynamics of Risk Taking*
Led by: Prof. Yossi Yassour. The workshop allows students to experience and reveal the roles of logic and sentiment in decision making. This 3-day workshop takes place on the Deragot bluffs near the Dead Sea.
The purpose of the workshop is to allow participants to take a three day break from their usual routines and examine the ways in which they make decisions, the risks they take and those they would like to take but avoid. The workshop encourages participants to deal with issues and take risks with reference to personal, managerial, professional and social aspects. The basic premise is that people are capable of performing better and of attaining greater self realization and better quality of life if they are willing to be bold, take initiative, be active and take more risks.
Business Game Fair - required course
The "Business Game Fair" is the pinnacle of a special course given in students' last semester of study called "Computerized Business Game". The course and the fair at its conclusion constitute a practical and competitive summation of their program studies. Within the framework of the game, students fulfill managerial roles in firms they have created and they are required to make production, marketing, financing and business strategy decisions. The game is run by the Department's senior lecturers and it simulates the competitiveness that exists in the market related to the chosen subject. The participating groups' business results are judged by both the academic faculty and by program graduates and guest managers from the business sector who are invited to participate.
