Registration and admission requirements


The number of those admitted to the program is limited, and therefore only the candidates meeting the requirements among those who apply will be admitted.

1. The following may apply for the program:
 Applicants with who scored at least 100 in the psychology advanced degrees exam.
Applicants with an average of at least 88 in a psychology bachelor's degree or who majored in psychology in a behavioral sciences bachelor's program from a recognized institute in Israel or abroad.
Third year students in the abovementioned programs, provided that the average of their grades until the closing of registration is no less than 88 in their psychology studies, and provided that they accumulated at least 40 credits in psychology studies.

Students who do not meet these requirements however they exceed only by little one of the criteria may submit a written request to the exceptions committee based on (pre) clinical experience among minority groups (the Arab, orthodox, immigrant sectors etc), or experience in extensive social and community clinical work. Candidates who are approved by the exceptions committee will submit the documents as stated hereunder and shall be screened with the rest of the candidates.

2. Candidates must submit the following documents:
 CV
 Declaration of intent
Letter of recommendation regarding the pre-clinical work
 Letter of recommendation regarding academic achievement of research experience
 Instructions for writing a CV and declaration of intents and recommendation forms can be found in the registration kit.

3. Applicants may also submit the following documents:
 A scientific article that was accepted by a known journal
 A poster presented at a scientific conference
 Award or citation for community or social work

4. Suitable candidates will be summoned for a personal interview
The invitation to an admittance interview will be sent according to the considerations of the department admissions committee and the candidates' qualifications.
The required materials must be sent to the registration center with the registration kit until February 24, 2010
Recommendations and score sheet only may be sent until March 15, 2010
Documents arriving after these dates will not be considered.

Period of registration
January 24 - February 24, 2010

The Ruppin Academic Center reserves the right to change the last date of registration for any reason according to its discretio.

Notices of admission and substantiation
Admission will be based on the student's location on the advanced degrees exam's ranking of grades, scores of the degree and any other criteria mentioned above.
 The first round will end until June 28, 2010
 The student will confirm his intention to substantiate until July 1, 2010
 The second round will end until July 5, 2010
 The student will confirm his intention to substantiate until July 8, 2010
 The third round will end until July 12, 2010
 The student will confirm his intention to substantiate until July 15, 2010

* Granting of the degree is conditional upon approval from the Board of Higher Education
Note: Master's degree in psychology allows registration as a psychologist in the Ministry of Health's registry of psychologists, in accordance with the Psychologists Law, 5737 - 1977. In order to work as an independent clinical psychologist one must undergo a clinical internship at a recognized place of internship (see specification in the Psychologists Law).
