Prof. Aviad​​​ Kleinberg

Aviad Kleinberg is a professor of history whose research focuses on religious phenomena in the medieval west. His books, published by Chicago University Press, Harvard University Press, Columbia University Press and Gallimard were translated into many languages. They deal with a wide range of subjects—from the acquisition of saintly reputation to subversive stories, from the seven capital sins to the physical aspects of the monotheists' God. 

Kleinberg taught at the department of History at Tel Aviv University. Between 2015-2019 he was Head of the Zvi Yavetz School of Historical Studies, Tel Aviv University. As a public intellectual, he often appeared in the media expressing himself on current issues. For many years he wrote a weekly column in Haaretz and Yedioth Ahronot.

In 2021, Kleinberg was elected president of the Ruppin Academic Center.
