Head of program: Dr. Yoel Asseraf
Majors: Finance and Financial Management; Marketing and International Business; Leadership, Strategy, and Senior Management; Organizational Consulting; and Technologies and Digital Businesses
Advantages of the program: The program, which has been operating since 2007, enjoys university-level tuition and is suitable for those wishing to combine work with advanced studies. Many alumni of the program are experienced executives. The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration’s excellent reputation, as well as that of its MBA program, is reflected in a survey that the important business magazine, Forbes, conducted in September 2016 that rated the quality of the business administration faculty at the Ruppin Academic Center number four in Israel. The survey considered a variety of factors such as quality of teaching, alumni’s success in the job market, and alumni’s salaries. (Ruppin is ranked only after the business administration faculties at Tel Aviv University, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya.) The program has five main advantages:
- Practicality: The academic program has an abundance of simulations, workshops, business games, and competitions. Via these tools, students develop and hone excellent managerial abilities, which are a vital auxiliary to the academic-theoretical material they learn.
- Comfort: Studies are concentrated into one year and are suitable for students with executive positions or families who are committed to combining higher education with their many responsibilities.
- Teaching level: In addition to the experienced faculty members, who integrate their academic research and practical managerial experience into their courses, studies include encounters with guest lecturers who are experts in their fields.
- Relevancy: The active learning includes content from the real world, which is updated frequently and integrated into the teaching tools.
- University-level tuition: The program enjoys the tuition of a government-subsidized institution.
- Student services: The spectacular campus boasts a convenient location and plenty of parking. The campus also provides students with the most advanced educational infrastructure.
About the field and the program: The Ruppin Academic Center’s MBA program educates executives and endows them with flexible thinking and practical and creative tools through simulations that replicate managerial decisions from the real world.
The combination of business and industrial development, growing competition between developed countries, and Israel’s integration into the international business community establish high standards for future managers, who will need strategic agility (a combination of nimbleness and flexible thinking) to provide solutions to unexpected scenarios. Strategic agility is a refreshing managerial concept that was born of the need to investigate, study, and practice without pause dynamic abilities in light of the changing economic-business reality.
Goals of the program: The goal of MBA studies at Ruppin is to educate skilled executives who are capable of facing complex challenges, steering an organization in uncertain conditions, and successfully coping with international business activities in a plethora of fields. This includes dealing with a global value chain of suppliers and clients, understanding business cultures in different countries, managing a virtual team of workers, international business cooperation, working with global institutions – financial and governmental – that are involved in the companies’ activities in the Israeli and international market, and more.
From the first moment, students address management challenges in each and every field, particularly the paradox between long-term planning and thinking and the need to solve problems in the short term.
