Ruppinvest

MBA

The Union Bank of Israel (Bank Igud) and the Ruppin Academic Center together established this fund for the hands-on course, Investment Fund Management in Practice, which is offered in the MBA program at the Rupin Academic Center.

The fund, which operates as a real fund that invests in the capital market in Israel and abroad, is managed by students in the MBA program majoring in finance. Management of the fund, execution of investments, and ongoing trade is performed under the instruction of Prof. Yoram Kroll and with the guidance of a teaching assistant who is active in the investment field. The students also attend guest lectures by professionals and visit the trading room of Bank Igud.

The fund is the fruit of the Ruppin Academic Center’s vision to endow students with academic knowledge and practical experience. It enables students to actually try their hands at management in a financial organization and to use the various financial tools (stocks, bonds, options, and commodities) available in Israel and the world.

Students examine local and global economic developments, check their implications on intended investments, and investigate applications in comparison to specific alternatives. They then offer the board of directors an investment strategy in light of the limits imposed by risks and the investment goals that the board sets.

The board of directors is composed of representatives of the Ruppin Academic Center and Bank Igud. The chairperson is an external advisor, CPA Amir Eyal, the owner and founder of the Infinity Ayalim fund.
