MA in Logistics and Global Supply Chain

Head of Department : Dr. David Bentolila

About the field: The supply chain is a central branch in global trade in the twenty-first century. Globalization prompted the branches of industry and trade to spread globally: development, manufacturing, supply, and acquisition systems must operate across different continents and states, something which requires that the companies transfer capital, merchandise, people and knowledge. The success of companies in this complex world depends to a large extent on their ability to manage an international supply chain and the ability to cope with a multicultural world. A complex supply chain like this requires managerial sophistication as well as knowledge and experience in all the fields of logistics, from acquisition onward to supplying the client, and a profound familiarity with the other components of the organization – production, finances, marketing, human resources, and more.

The abilities required today in those who deal with logistics thus extend over a wide range of fields – proficiency in advanced calculation techniques, strategic and interdisciplinary thinking, and well-developed personal skills. Due to Israel’s geographic location and political situation, 98% of the cargo for international trade arrives and leaves it via the sea. Therefore, the State of Israel and Israeli industry are dependent to a large extent on sophisticated logistical systems that deal with sea transport.

The Ruppin Academic Center is the only academic institution in Israel that offers studies on the modern, global supply chain with a focus on maritime logistics.

Advantages of the program: The master’s degree program in logistics and global supply chain at the Ruppin Academic Center is the only academic program in Israel in this field. This cutting-edge program provides alumni with a comprehensive, global view while focusing on the supply chain in the maritime industry, trade, and logistics.

International shipping certificate: In addition to the degree, the program offers training to earn an international shipping certificate and preparation to successfully pass the exams of the Israel Tax Authority.

Certificate studies are a supplement to the degree and offered to alumni for a negligible addition of time and money since most of the knowledge required is already included in the degree program’s curriculum.
