Faculty of Management & Economics
Faculty of Management & Economics at the Ruppin Academic Center has been awarding academic degrees with the Israeli Council for Higher Education’s recognition since 1979. Its academic programs – leading to undergraduate degrees in economics and management, economics and accounting, and business administration and to an MBA – combine a methodical theoretical background with wide-ranging practical knowledge, a high academic level with openness and attentiveness to students’ needs, and the latest academic content with an incomparable pastoral campus. Yet like in every organization, the human factor is what makes the real difference: lecturers who personify this combination by publishing their academic research in international journals and having many years of practical experience in the business and public sector; the administrative staff, whose concern for the student is incomparable; and special students who know how to balance personal aspirations for success with mutual support.
Extensive external evidence demonstrates the distinctive quality of studies at the Faculty of Management & Economics at the Ruppin Academic Center. The highlights are presented below; additional testimony from alumni can be found in the detailed descriptions of the academic programs.
- The faculty earns the top spots in the Israeli Student Union’s national survey on teaching year after year. In 2016, it was ranked number three in the entire country and number one among government-subsidized institutions in Israel.
- In September 2016, the faculty received a seal of excellence for its activities from the influential business magazine, Forbes, which ranked it number four of all the universities and colleges in Israel.
- The comparative survey, which the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics published in 2012, found that five years after graduation, alumni of Ruppin’s undergraduate program in management earn the second-highest salaries among alumni of all the Israeli universities and colleges that teach business administration.
- Alumni’s success rate on the Israeli Accountants Council’s qualifying exams are among the highest in the country, year after year. Plus even though many alumni pass the exams – our alumni constitute some 9 percent of all the new accountants each year – 75 percent of the program’s alumni obtain a position at one of the prestigious big five accounting firms in Israel.
Ruppin’s programs in economics and business administration have earned a reputation for excellence thanks to the faculty and administrative staff’s profound commitment to ensuring that alumni are equipped with the latest knowledge and tools as well as professional tools that prepare them for a variety of fascinating and challenging positions in the business and public sector. Our academic programs all combine theory and practice, incorporating simulations of real events from the business and economic realm in Israel and the world. We strive without pause to ensure that our academic programs are up to date, both with regard to the applied academic research that the faculty’s faculty conducts and via the ongoing relationship with the professional and business community in Israel. The latter is expressed in guest lectures, conferences, and workshops as well as in guidance on projects.
In addition to academic knowledge and advanced, practical teaching methods, the faculty places great importance on educating a principled generation of alumni and encouraging responsible business, economic, and social leadership. The faculty encourages social entrepreneurship and community involvement throughout the course of study.
Thousands of alumni – about 500 per year – have completed undergraduate and master’s degrees at the Faculty of Management & Economics at the Ruppin Academic Center and the faculty and administrative staff is committed to the success of each and every one of them. The academic atmosphere at Ruppin, the personal attention, the teaching infrastructure, and the extensive services for students – all this is intended to give our students an educational experience that is among the best in Israel.
If you are considering undergraduate studies in economics or business administration or MBA studies, we invite you to visit our campus, talk with our students and faculty members, and get a first-hand impression of the special atmosphere at the Ruppin Academic Center.
