Maritime Activities
Faculty of Marine Sciences
The Faculty of Marine Sciences’ curriculums involve theoretical and practical studies. Students participate in theoretical and practical seamanship courses, learning how to sail a speedboat as well as a small yacht. Those who are interested can continue their practical seamanship training to earn a skipper’s license. Students participate in diving and sailing courses, including sailing to the shores of Greece and Cyprus. The practical seamanship studies include educational cruises, in accordance with the Israeli Ministry of Transportation requirements to obtain a skipper’s license.
Sailing Club
Students have access to a sailing club, which is located in the Mikhmoret marina on the campus of the Mevo’ot Yam youth village. The club offers students the opportunity to participate in activities such as sailing and sea sports. It also places sailboards, small sailboats, snunit boats, yachts, and kayaks at students’ disposal.
