Computer and information science is a growing new interdisciplinary academic field bridging theoretical and practical computer science with scientific data science. Computer science studies processes that interact with data and can be represented as data in the form of programs. Data science uses scientific methods, processes, algorithms and systems to extract knowledge and insights from information.
