About the field: Nurses play a central role in therapeutic and support activities in the healthcare system. Nursing staff works in a dynamic environment that requires the ability to make decisions in real time. This ability is dependent upon acquiring and developing broad professional knowledge in various fields, developing critical thinking skills, and the abilities to evaluate changing situations and diagnose a patient and build and implement a suitable treatment plan. This is done in cooperation with professional partners who also are active in the healthcare arena. The nursing staff is active in many different fields such as health promotion, convalescence, preventing complications and rehabilitation. The goal of treatment and support are to provide a high-quality of professional response to the sensitive physical and emotional needs of patients and their families.
