The Auditorium at the Academic Library Building

​The building of the academic library and Beit Yad Labanim was designed by architect David Knafo, based on the architectural vision of the academic center - promoting and maintaining a green, ecological, and naturalistic environment in line with the unique atmosphere of the campus.

The spectacular building, with its transparent walls, has won design awards. It serves also as a cultural-community center for the entire student body, as well as the municipality’s residents, since it houses not only an academic library but also Beit Yad Labanim, an auditorium, and a gallery / study space. This is in line with RAC’s approach - outstanding academia combining community and social action.

The library at RAC serves thousands of students and staff and is open to the public free of charge. The library collection contains over 30,000 books and journals, as well as access to hundreds of thousands of electronic books and articles and dozens of databases.

The Auditorium

The new auditorium will be used for dozens of academic conferences and seminars every year, lectures and courses for large groups of students, special arts and music events for students, staff and the regional municipality’s residents. 

The outer part of the auditorium, the roof, makes up a sloping amphitheater created by the shape of the building near the central lawn.

Dozens of conferences, seminars and events are held each year at RAC. There is currently no suitable auditorium that fulfils the needs of the college and the community, and therefore we turn to you to help us complete the project.

The auditorium will serve the thousands of RAC students, who attend it from all over the country, among them new immigrants and students from a disadvantaged background from surrounding peripheral towns, like Netanya, Hadera, Or Akiva, Pardes Chana and Karkur. It will also serve the academic staff and the region's residents. The auditorium will host academic conferences and other events and activities, in addition to cultural and artistic activities for the region’s residents. It should be mentioned that there are no other buildings in the area which serve a similar purpose, in the same quality and size as planned for this building at the heart of RAC, next to the municipality building.

Specifications:

The skeleton of the auditorium was already built during the construction of the library, and the concrete work has been completed.

Tribute

The auditorium will be named after the donor and will include signs and plaques, and the inauguration and unveiling of the auditorium will be held in the presence of the donors and their guests, the directors of Ruppin Academic Center and members of the academic and administrative staff.
